Internet Video Heads Towards Global Revolution

What started out as a natural progression of technology for the Black Hills Portal has now also become a focal point for many in the Global Online Video Revolution.  The online electronic chatter in many user groups indicate that Vloggers (Video Bloggers) are very well aware of the dent they are making in the traditional media’s playground.  The word “Revolution” might actually be an understatement for what is actually starting to take place.  Many of these savvy geeks have always known that the greatest market share would someday be the internet and now they are proving themselves right.  While FoxNews.com, NBC, and many of the larger media moguls are smiling that they have their web sites now full of “Free” “Video” content… they might actually be missing the boat.  What Amanda Congdon, of RocketBoom.com and Katrina Stenquist of Mobuzztv.com have that the big media moguls don’t, are not only three minutes of many internet surfer’s attention, but they have true internet syndication through RSS feeds.  They and thousand of others are now being downloaded into subscriber’s libraries for future viewing.  Many of the larger networks don’t want you to have their video feed and they go to great lengths to protect it. They want you only to view them on their websites. Where by protecting the use of their news and content.  which is almost exactly the antithesis of the vloggers. This is why the “Revolution” is really taking flight.

Just with in the past month (podcast.yahoo.com) has just launched a video and podcast aggregator which allows users to subscribe to pod and video cast from all over the world.  It is no doubt that Yahoo! saw the dollar signs at Apples’ iTunes.  For the Podcast and Vlog world this is nothing but more good news that they are actually being heard and now seen.  Black Hills Portal, a local internet portal for 75 Black Hill’s communities started in late spring of 2005 to embed local video into their news stories and business directory.  Then in the full swing of summer launched a video blog or vlog called BlackHills.TV which now host BlackHillsPodcast.com and the Portal’s videos. “This now enables our site visitors to subscribe to our video and audio and view it at their preferred time.”  Technology and Katrina - Mobuzztv.comOperations Director, Scott Prentice said this was just a natural path of growth for the Portal. The Portal has now become one of the first Vlogs syndicated into iTunes, Yahoo! and hundreds of other podcast and video directories in a multi-state region. Black Hills Portal currently called Black Hills Today, a Coldfusion based portal which now host embedded news video and audio, has been consistently a leader in online technology and innovation.  Often touted as the “Nations Fastest Growing Community Portal” is quietly and quickly becoming a member of this new Revolution.  Scott believes online video syndication is going to be one of the largest media businesses within 3 years.  With estimates currently running at 10 million listeners to podcasts and manufactures now positioning themselves to host syndicated video on portable iPods, Cellular Phones, PDA and similar devices, he can’t be to far off from the truth.  Scott

also said that when you have brilliant young “Peppy and Provocative” people like Katrina Stenquist of MoBuzzTV life is just a little sweeter and more enjoyable then Bill O’Reilly and Fox News.
